This historical novel is the sequel to The Meeting Place by best-selling authors Oke and Bunn. The plot follows Anne Harrow and Nicole Robichaud, whose families voluntarily switched them at birth (read the first novel to find out why) and then lost touch with each other when the Acadian Robichauds were forced out of Nova Scotia by British edict. Now grown, the girls learn about their "real" parents, and a shaken Nicole (born Anne) embarks on a desperate search to find the Harrows and reaffirm her belief in herself with God's help. At the same time, Lord Charles Harrow, Nicole's uncle, arrives in Nova Scotia to end the estrangement with his brother, now a minister, and name his niece Anne (now Nicole) as his heir. Unfortunately, shallow characterizations and miraculous resolutions mar the plot, but the strength of the authors' popularity will fuel demand. Purchase accordingly.Copyright 2000 Library Journal, LLC Used with permission.
